TERMS AND CONDITIONS
The contract between Pause for Torte and the client is not in effect until a deposit has been received. At that point, the contract is legally binding.
CAKES
Our cakes are made in a domestic kitchen where nuts, eggs, dairy, milk, gluten and other allergens are present. We therefore cannot guarantee that any item make in our kitchen is completely free of allergens.
During the design process, if you have an image of a cake design, we will do our upmost to design a similar cake. However, we cannot guarantee an exact replica. We also appreciate and respect other cake designers and their artistic license.
We aim to be able to replicate a particular colour scheme, however this is not guaranteed.
At times, some ingredients or decorative elements may not be available. On these rare occasions we will work with you to find an alternative.
Tiered cakes contain either wood or plastic dowels for stability and should be removed prior to consumption.
Cakes are made with fresh ingredients, and as such should be eaten within 2-3 days after collection/delivery. To ensure your cake or cupcakes remain in the best condition, please store in a cool, dry room away from direct sunlight or heaters.
Buttercream cakes - fine to refrigerate if it's a hot day!
Fondant cakes - do not refrigerate
Cupcake and floral cupcakes - please do not refrigerate as this will dry out the sponge
Cakes will not be released for collection or delivery until the full balance has been paid.
Deposit payable is 50% of the total price quoted.
All deposits are non-refundable and the balance is due on the date specified on the confirmation email or message. If the full balance is not received, Pause for Torte reserves the right to cancel the order.
Once the full balance has been paid, and provided we have not yet started the order, a refund will be given minus the deposit.
Refunds will not be given if the cancellation request is made within 4 days of collection/delivery date for celebration cakes and cupcakes, or within 7 days for wedding cakes.
Postponements
We will try and accommodate date changes where possible, however we cannot guarantee we are able to accept a new date.
Cancellations by Pause for Torte due to events outside of their control will be communicated to the client at the earliest possibility. On these occasions, a full refund including the deposit will be given, to enable you to find an alternative cake provider.
Complaints
Each cake is made with the upmost care, and as such, complaints are rare. If you are not happy with any aspect of your order, please notify Pause for Torte as soon as possible, within 24 hours of collection or delivery. Both parties agree not to post negative remarks on any online forums without prior notification to enable an amicable resolution.
If the complaint relates to the quality of the cake, then the remaining portion must be returned to Pause for Torte in order for us to assess and resolve the issue if we are at fault.
We reserve the right to publish images of your cake/s for advertising or promotional purposes.
